What exactly is StructureClerk?+
A free assessment that identifies the data protection, AI governance and cybersecurity obligations that apply to your startup, based on the markets you sell into. It covers 192 jurisdictions and produces a prioritized report, not a long question list to interpret on your own.
Does it replace a lawyer?+
No. StructureClerk identifies compliance gaps and prioritizes actions — it never provides legal advice and never declares an organization "compliant." For an opposable legal opinion (litigation, a merger, a complex case), a lawyer is still required.
How much does it cost?+
The initial assessment is free, no credit card required. Continuous follow-up (weekly monitoring of your website, regulatory-change alerts, multi-assessment history) is part of the Pro plan at CA$39/month.
What happens to my answers and my report?+
By default, your answers stay in your browser. If you provide your email to receive your report, a copy is stored so we can send it to you and generate your report's shareable link. Full detail is in our privacy policy.
Is scanning my website safe?+
It only reads your site's public pages — the ones an ordinary browser displays — with no intrusion attempt and no vulnerability testing. You must attest that you own the site, or are duly authorized to request its analysis, before it starts.
Is the report different depending on where I sell?+
Yes. The obligations shown depend on the markets you declare: the same product can be subject to GDPR in Europe, Law 25 in Quebec, and the CCPA in California — requirements that don't always overlap.
